Canoe tour in Whangamata
-------
Bellissimo!!!!
We paddled into a rock! and there was turquoise lake!
and trees growing all around it on the rocks…

That's me in the middle :-)

That's the hole we paddled through to reach the lake.
One beautiful night in Tauranga!
-----------
Cold beer and an incredible sunset…

Just incredible, and we even missed the most colourful part!

Escaping from the Queensland Floods
-------------

Fraser Island Part II
---------

New day new luck.... we had a little bit of blue sky in the Champagne Pools ... yay!

The Champagne Pools are enclosed by rocks. You are protected from the wind and the huge waves and bad animals that linger there.

Peter (our super-guide) and I on our way back to the cars.

There actually do land airplanes on the beach. The same place people go for walks, Jeeps and buses drive around and Dingos hang out....

...incredible!

From this spot you have amazing views of the island and the ocean. Looking straight down the rocks to the water, you can see a couple of sharks swimming around.... that was quite impressive!

One of Fraser's Highlights is lake McKenzie! The colour is amazing. The sand is white, really white and the water is just unreal....
The sky was black and it was quite fresh, but you can't resist and after a while you don't care about the rain anymore. We had to go swimming!

We tried our best for a group picture....

After a sleepless night in a wet sleeping bag poor Meli and Dario are probably the only persons who ever fell asleep in a 4WD on a bumpy beach, sitting on a hard bench, being thrown around every 2 seconds :-)

On our way back we ran into this creature.... whatever it is?!

... and we finally had a nice and sunny day,

but unfortunately we had to leave back to Rainbow, where more rain was already waiting for us. It just gave us enough time to find out how much dry clothes were left.
That's the story from Fraser Island.
